2021 MLB Weekly Recap, Power Rankings (April 26)

The past week in the MLB was headlined by a couple of do-it-all pitchers off to red-hot starts.

MVP? Jacob deGrom continues scorching hot start to the season after complete game shutout against the Nationals. The Mets ace has a 0.31 ERA, 0.55 WHIP, 50 strikeouts, and just four walks through four starts. He’s struck out 14+ batters in each of his past three games. He’s also hitting .545 at the plate.

In the AL, Shohei Ohtani hit his seventh home run of the season, tied for the most in the majors. Ohtani will be the Angels’ starting pitcher today while being the league-leader in homers.

The Oakland A’s won 13 consecutive games after a 1-7 start. The winning streak was snapped yesterday against Baltimore.

Padres get the better of the Dodgers in weekend series in LA, coming back last night and winning three of four. Three games in the series between the powerhouses were decided by just one run.

Madison Bumgarner threw a seven-inning no-hitter. But it will not “officially” count as a no-hitter.
