Strengths

Tall right tackle with long arms. Imposing overall frame. Intelligent. Moves well for his size. Very quick drop step at the snap. Excellent technique. Hands are ready to strike and restrike. Keeps a balanced base. Prepared to counter inside moves and spins. Knows and handles his assignment in pass protection. Works as a drive blocker in the running game. Good acceleration to the second level. Can get rolling as a lead blocker in space. Mostly goes to the ground to bury a defender. Hustles to seek work. Won basically every rep against Chase Winovich and Rashan Gary in last year’s Michigan game. Appears to be a great teammate.

Weaknesses

Can give some ground if he allows length to get inside. Will sometimes miss his strike and overextend. Likely better suited for the right side.

NFL comparison

Jack Conklin – The size for Isaiah Prince matches up with Conklin, but more importantly, they have similar play styles as towering right tackles with ideal functional athleticism and football character at six-foot-six.

Conclusion

Overall, Isaiah Prince is a proven offensive tackle with the frame, technique, and demeanor to be a star. I think he is being severely undervalued in the pre-draft process and should be considered a borderline first-round pick.
