Strengths

Prototype combination of size and athleticism to match anyone in coverage. Ideal length. Plays with tremendous physicality. Extremely aggressive and competitive. Very strong hands in press coverage. Sticky and frustrating to face. Above-average speed and acceleration. Great technique overall. Impressive feet and reaction time. Quick transitioning out of the press. Stays patient. Accurate getting his hands on the ball for pass breakups at the catch point. Good awareness in zone coverage. Experience playing both outside cornerback spot and the slot. Can be used to match up against tight ends. Has shown the ability to make strong tackles in space. Can take on blocks and push wideouts off him. Doesn’t back down at all. Very rarely thrown at in 2020 and played great versus top competition. Plus ball skills. Son of former Pro Bowl wide receiver Joe Horn.

Weaknesses

Could struggle versus shiftier wideouts. A little stiff opening up vertically. Too handsy at times. Had some trouble working against rub routes. Would like to see him help more versus the run rather than being preoccupied by who he is lined up against. Aggressiveness as a tackler doesn’t consistently match the level in coverage. Exposed some versus DeVonta Smith and Alabama in 2019.

Conclusion

Overall, Horn is a very physical cornerback that can frustrate opponents in press coverage and stick with them throughout the game. If he can become more consistent as a run defender, Horn could eventually become one of the NFL’s most well-rounded corners.
