David Fales | Jets QB

The Jets re-signed David Fales, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fales will look to compete for the backup quarterback job behind Sam Darnold this season, but he's off the fantasy radar for now. Fales is familiar with Jets head coach Adam Gase from last season and from their time together with the Dolphins.

David Fales | Jets QB

The Jets are signing David Fales, according to multiple reports.

Fales spent 2017 and 2018 with Adam Gase in Miami, so he has familiarity with his offense and can slide right into the backup role behind Luke Falk. Depending on how Falk performs, there's a chance Fales gets playing time for the Jets, but he's not a recommended fantasy option.

David Fales | Jets QB

The Lions released David Fales.

This release might have been made now so that Fales gets a chance to sign with another team ahead of final cuts on Saturday. Fales turns 29 in October.

David Fales | Jets QB

The Lions signed quarterback David Fales.

Fales spent the last two seasons with the Dolphins, where Adam Gase, who is familiar with Lions head coach Matt Patricia, was the head coach. It's possible Patricia received some insight from Gase about Fales before signing him. Fales will compete for a roster spot in Detroit, but he's off the fantasy radar right now.

David Fales | Jets QB

The Dolphins re-signed quarterback David Fales.

Head coach Adam Gase and the Dolphins seem to be high on Fales, who has played well in the preseason and got some time during the season last year. He might compete for the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill this season.

David Fales | Jets QB

David Fales, Dolphins can't complete comeback attempt in Week 17 loss.

Fales didn't start, but he replaced Jay Cutler after he threw just two passes against Buffalo so he could get some playing time. The 27-year-old had a chance to tie things up or take the lead in an eventual 22-16 defeat after Miami recovered an onside kick, but an interception ended things. Overall, Fales was 29/42 for 265 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also rushed four times for eight yards and a touchdown. He's unlikely to make 2018 starts.

David Fales | Jets QB

The Dolphins signed QB David Fales.

Fales was with Miami during the preseason, and the team brought him back while Jay Cutler is dealing with cracked ribs and unlikely to play on Thursday night. Expect Fales to backup Matt Moore, as it'd be a surprise if Cutler was able to suit up against the Ravens.

David Fales | Jets QB

David Fales picks up chunk plays in preseason opener.

The second-year quarterback was 8/17 for 184 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Both of his touchdowns, including a 99-yarder which was a dime of a throw, came in the fourth quarter, so he might be behind Brandon Doughty as of now. But he has a chance to be the third quarterback if he keeps it up.
