Jared Goff | Rams QB

Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell wants Jared Goff to take ownership of the offense.

O'Connell says of the fifth-year quarterback, "There's a layer going into his fifth year, his fourth year in the offense, of ownership, where you feel strongly about presenting him with a plan where he could truly have some ownership, while also understanding at the end of the day, it's just about being great with the details of doing his job." While Goff's numbers took a step back last season while playing behind an offensive line that really struggled to protect him for most of the year, the former No. 1 overall pick has shown he can play quarterback at a very high level—and it sounds like LA wants Goff to take a step into that bonafide elite category of passers. The Rams offensive line came together down the stretch in 2019 (when Goff threw 11 touchdowns and four interceptions in December), and the Cal product obviously has great upside in Sean McVay's offense if there's consistent play up front.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff breaks slump with 400-yard game against the Cardinals.

Goff was 32-of-43 for 424 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in a 34-7 victory, getting big games out of Robert Woods (13/172), Tyler Higbee (7/107/1) and Cooper Kupp (6/65/1). It would have been fun to see the numbers Goff could have put up if Arizona kept pace offensively, but fantasy owners that rolled with him can't complain about the showing. The biggest difference on Sunday was protection holding up, and Goff flashed on-the-money accuracy because he was given time. We'll see if he can string together another strong performance next week for a primetime matchup against Seattle.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Rams passing offense gets going in Week 7.

Jared Goff was 22/27 for 268 passing yards and two passing touchdowns along with three carries for three rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in the Rams' rout of the Falcons. Goff has all day in the pocket for much of the game, which allowed him to hit his top-tier group of playmakers against a defense that simply looked outmatched. It could have been an even bigger day for Goff if not for some near misses on a number of deep balls that he and his receivers didn't quite connect on—including tight end Gerald Everett on a few occasions. Goff gets another juicy matchup against the Bengals next week, and he'll remain an excellent QB1 option that should be in most fantasy lineups.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

The Rams have agreed to a four-year contract extension with Jared Goff, according to NFL Network's Mike Silver.

This extension will keep the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 draft with the Rams for six more years (through the 2024 season). The narratives about Goff being a so-called "system quarterback" that Sean McVay was looking to part ways with can finally end. Goff is simply an excellent quarterback, and he'll turn just 25 years old in October, so he'll be in a position to ink another massive contract in 2025. Goff is coming off career-highs in completion percentage (64.9%), passing yards (4,688), and passing touchdowns (32) last season, and he has elite statistical upside moving forward commanding McVay's attack. This deal will reportedly be close to a record-breaking in terms of guaranteed money, so you can assume the Rams are expecting top-notch play (and, in turn, likely star quarterback numbers) from their franchise quarterback. We'll see what happens this season, but Goff had no business being ranked outside the top ten quarterbacks in 2019 fantasy drafts.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff is looking to "master" Sean McVay's offense this year.

Entering his fourth NFL season and his third season in McVay's offense, Goff is looking and feeling extremely comfortable this offseason. The Rams head coach says you can see the difference in his quarterback's confidence each year, adding, "you can't say enough just [how much he is an] extension of the coaching staff." Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron said: "The first year, he's really learning it, last year, he had a great ownership of it, and now it's time to really master the system as a whole, and he's done a great job of that." Goff himself says he naturally feels more comfortable because he continues to get more reps, and you keep getting better at anything when you keep doing it. Leading a high-powered attack with near-mastery of the offensive system, Goff probably has no business going outside the top-ten quarterbacks in 2019 fantasy drafts; but for some reason, he's mostly thought of as a fringe QB1 at the moment.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

The Rams officially exercised Jared Goff's fifth-year option.

This was obviously fully expected, and it keeps Goff locked up in Los Angeles through the 2020 season. Expect the Rams to try to reach an agreement on a long-term contract with their star franchise quarterback this offseason, as Goff's price will likely only get higher after he was already in the Super Bowl last season. Goff is entering his fourth NFL season and third season in Sean McVay's offense.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams lose Super Bowl LIII to the Patriots, 13-3.

Goff was 19/38 for 229 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. The surprising defensive battle that broke out was mostly due to a consistent pass rush from both sides, and the Los Angeles receivers struggled to create much separation, which was a concern heading into the game without Cooper Kupp. While people will unfortunately pin a lot of the blame on the 24-year-old quarterback, he played better than the numbers suggest in what was basically a road spot, including the would-be game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter on a dime that was dropped by Brandin Cooks (he threw an interception on the next play). Overall, Goff proved himself as arguably the top young signal-caller in the league this season, and he should be even better in 2019 as Kupp returns. A case can likely be made for Goff being ranked as high as the No. 2 fantasy quarterback in drafts over the summer, and the Rams should once again be championship contenders next year.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams beat the Saints in overtime, 26-23, to advance to Super Bowl LIII.

Goff was 25/40 for 297 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, also adding three carries for ten yards. The youngest quarterback to ever win an NFC Championship Game, Goff started the day with an interception on a Todd Gurley drop, but he was excellent the rest of the way, including a seven-of-seven stretch for 120 yards in the second half to help Los Angeles overcome a 20-10 deficit. After a Drew Brees interception in OT, the Rams were able to get in field goal range thanks to a couple under-pressure completions by Goff, and Greg Zuerlein sent the team to Atlanta on a 57-yard kick. LA will face the winner of Patriots-Chiefs.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams advance to NFC Championship with 30-22 win over the Cowboys.

Goff was 15/28 for 186 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding six carries for 12 yards. The numbers obviously don't pop out in the box score, but Goff played great, consistently hitting receivers in stride to keep the offense moving as Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson both rushed for over 100 yards. As a runner, Goff even picked up a clutch third-down conversion on the game-sealing drive with an 11-yard keeper. The Rams should be confident heading into the conference championship next Sunday against the winner of tomorrow's Eagles-Saints game.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff tosses four touchdowns in Week 17.

Goff was 15/26 for 199 yards and four touchdowns in the Rams' win over the Niners, hitting Brandin Cooks and Josh Reynolds each twice for the four scores. The third-year quarterback appears to be out of his lull entering the postseason, as he's been precise and on target the last couple of weeks. Goff's regular season ends with 4,688 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 64.9% of his passes along with 43 carries for 108 yards and two touchdowns. While people might just focus on Goff having a bad stretch late in the season while the offensive line struggled, he was truly excellent overall and took another step forward this regular season, likely helping many fantasy owners win titles. He was the QB7 in terms of points scored in standard leagues this season. Now Goff will look to lead the Rams to a Super Bowl, and he certainly has the ability to make big-time throws to help get it done.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams get back on track with 31-9 win over the Cardinals.

Goff was 19/24 for 216 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions, also adding two carries for six yards and another score. The rushing touchdown came on a zone read at the goal line in the first half, and Goff hit Robert Woods for a 39-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter to put Arizona away. Sean McVay's offense still doesn't look how it did prior to the bye week, but Goff didn't make any mistakes, and he showed impressive accuracy on mostly play-action passes. Los Angeles will probably try to get Goff some more confidence before January when they look to get a first-round bye next week against the Niners. Consider him a solid QB1.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams upset by the Eagles, 30-23.

Goff was 35/54 for 339 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions, also adding two carries for 11 yards. The poor month of December continues for Goff, as constant pressure combined with no real separation by his receivers has led to a 1:7 touchdown-interception ratio over the past three games. On Sunday night, Philadelphia simply backed off to avoid allowing big plays, and the Rams probably didn't take advantage with quick screens until it was too late, and a jump ball in the end zone fell incomplete to end a comeback attempt (LA trailed 30-13) as time expired. Fantasy owners probably need to keep rolling with Goff because an explosion could be coming, but he's probably more of a midrange QB1 than high-end QB1 for the fantasy championship.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff throws four interceptions in Rams’ loss.

Goff was 20/44 for 180 yards and four interceptions along with one carry for five yards against the Bears. One interception came on a Hail Mary attempt at the end of the first half, and another came when his offensive lineman was pushed back into him as he tried to make a throw, so he didn’t play quite as bad as the stats indicate. However, it was probably his worst game the last two seasons. The offense didn’t help him much, though, as he was under constant pressure all night, which would have made it difficult for any quarterback to have success; also the Rams didn’t run the ball well and didn’t commit to the run, which didn’t help. This obviously wasn’t ideal for fantasy owners in the first week of the playoffs, but he’ll look to make up for it with a big performance next Sunday night against the Eagles, who just gave up 455 passing yards to Dak Prescott. You shouldn’t shy away from Goff as a QB1 in Week 15.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams passing attack held in check in Week 13 win.

Goff was 17/33 for 207 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the 30-16 victory. He also lost a fumble. The performance was a surprise considering Los Angeles was coming off a bye to prepare, but Detroit made things tough on Sean McVay's offense. Goff should bounce back next Sunday night against the Bears, as they are better attacked through the air than on the ground. Keep the MVP candidate in lineups as a high-end QB1.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams win an all-time shootout against the Chiefs, 54-51.

Goff was 31/49 for 413 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions, also adding four carries for six yards and two lost fumbles. Los Angeles and Kansas City basically went blow for blow, as Goff got things started with a couple first quarter touchdown tosses to Robert Woods (seven yards) and Josh Reynolds (four yards) before the Chiefs made their move in the second quarter to tie the game at 23-23 heading into halftime. The teams traded shots the rest of the way, and Goff was able to run for a seven-yard score and throw a seven-yard score to Gerald Everett to make it a 47-44 game. However, after Patrick Mahomes answered to go up 51-47, the highlight of the night for Goff came on the following possession with a 40-yard dime to Gerald Everett for the game-winning touchdown. It was another brilliant performance by Goff, who is on pace for 5,159 yards and a 38:9 touchdown-interception ratio entering the Week 12 bye. The 24-year-old will obviously be an elite QB1 down the stretch.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams improve to 9-1 with 36-31 victory over the Seahawks.

Goff was 28/39 for 318 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the win, also adding three carries for three yards. Both scores went to the tight ends (Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee) from ten yards out, and Los Angeles will probably need more from the pair with Cooper Kupp (knee) unfortunately done for the season. As for Goff, he continues to show impressive accuracy to all levels of the field, and he remains an elite QB1 option down the stretch as the triggerman for Sean McVay's offense. Next week should be an absolute shootout against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Mexico City.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams lose their first game of the season, 45-35, in New Orleans.

Goff was 28/40 for 391 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, also adding three carries for 17 yards. Los Angeles faced a 35-14 deficit with less than 30 seconds left in the second quarter, but Goff was able to get the team in field goal range to close out the half with a 56-yarder by Greg Zuerlein, and then the Rams went touchdown, field goal, touchdown to open the second half while forcing the Saints to punt twice. Unfortunately, Marcus Peters was burnt by Michael Thomas on a 72-yard touchdown to basically seals the game in the fourth quarter, but it was still a great game by Goff, who found Brandin Cooks (four yards), Malcolm Brown (18 yards), and Cooper Kupp (41 yards) in a comeback effort and again threw strikes all afternoon. The 24-year-old should be a solid QB1 for a home matchup against the Seahawks next week before a huge Monday Night Football battle with the Chiefs in Week 11.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams ermine undefeated with 29-27 victory over the Packers.

Goff was 19/35 for 295 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding five carries for seven yards. It was a slow start for the Rams as they faced a 10-0 deficit late in the first half, but Goff was able to find Josh Reynolds for a one-yard score before the break, and then he connected with Todd Gurley (30 yards) and Reynolds again (19 yards) in the second half. It didn't even feel like Los Angeles played up to their potential once they got going, but Goff still had nearly 300 yards with three scores, and at the season's midway point, he is now on pace for 4,850 yards and a 34:10 touchdown-interception ratio. The 24-year-old should be a high-end QB1 for another potential shootout next Sunday against the Saints.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff throws two touchdowns in Rams' win.

Goff was 18/24 for 202 yards and two touchdowns against the Niners, with the scores going to Brandin Cooks on a 19-yard dime to the end zone and to Todd Gurley on a screen pass for 12 yards. It was a rout in favor of the Rams, and Goff was pulled late in the game. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers should put up points this week, so Goff might have to throw the ball around more in Week 8. He remains a strong QB1 option in fantasy lineups despite just 36 points (standard leagues) the last three games.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams passing attack contained in 23-20 win over the Broncos.

Goff was 14/28 for 201 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception, also adding four carries for 14 yards. The interception wasn't Goff's fault, as it bounced off Josh Reynolds' face (following a slight tip) and right into he hands of a nearby defender, but the biggest thing working against Los Angeles' quarterback from a fantasy perspective was the team's willingness and effectiveness running the ball with a career-best 208 yards from Todd Gurley. Keep Goff in lineups as a solid QB1 next week in San Francisco before two potential shoutouts against the Packers and Saints.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams pickup a hard-fought victory in Seattle, 33-31.

Goff was 23/32 for 321 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, also rushing five times for 15 yards, including the game-winning conversion on fourth-and-inches in their own territory to ice the game. The touchdown came on an easy backside throw to Cooper Kupp after bootleg action, and the interceptions both weren't bad, as one came on a deflected throw in the red zone, and the other was a Hail Mary pass to end the first half. Overall, it was another strong showing from Goff with Brandin Cooks and Kupp both leaving the game with concussions, as he picked up chunk yardage to Robert Woods, Josh Reynolds, and Khadarel Hodge in the second half. Some might be worried about the matchup in Denver next Sunday, but Goff remains a surefire QB1 option in Week 6 if Cooks and/or Kupp are healthy.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams explode in shootout victory over the Vikings on Thursday Night Football.

In a 38-31 win, Goff completed 26/33 passes for 465 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interception, also adding two rushes for seven yards. The scoring got started with an eight-yard touchdown throw to Todd Gurley in the first quarter, and then Goff completely took over the game in the second quarter with dimes to Cooper Kupp from 70 yards and 19 yards out before another to Brandin Cooks on a 47-yard score. In the third quarter, Goff's final touchdown throw came on another strike to Robert Woods from 31 yards away. Overall, it was arguably the performance of the year by a quarterback, as the former No. 1 overall pick dropped dime after dime on his way to a TNF record for passing yards and tying the Rams franchise record for passing touchdowns. At the quarter mark of the season, Goff is on pace for 5,624 yards, 44 touchdowns, and eight interceptions despite a tough schedule with games against the Cardinals, Chargers, and Vikings. He is arguably a top-five option the rest of the way, including next Sunday against the Seahawks.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams keep rolling in 35-23 win over the Chargers.

Goff was 29/36 for 354 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Battle for Los Angeles, also rushing three times for 14 yards. Besides an underthrown interception that Derwin James made a play on in the end zone, Goff was excellent on Sunday, connecting with Robert Woods (twice) and Cooper Kupp for scores. The highlight was an absolute dime to Kupp on a 53-yard touchdown strike in which he navigated the pocket to hit the second-year wideout in stride, and he also had an unbelievable throw to Robert Woods on the sidelines later in the game. For whatever reason, people thought Goff would take a step back this season, but he's shown no signs of that with 354 passing yards in each of the past two weeks. Even against the Vikings on Thursday night, Goff is worth considering at home, and it would be unwise to drop him with the schedule lightening up considerably starting in Week 5.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff goes over 350 yards in Rams' win.

Goff and the Rams dominated the Cardinals, basically doing whatever they wanted through the air, and punching it in on the ground when they got near the goal line. Goff was 24/32 for 354 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Week 2 victory. He again got the ball out accurately to his open receivers, and he looks very poise in the pocket. Goff faces the Chargers in Week 3.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams start 1-0 with 33-13 victory over the Raiders.

Goff went 18/33 for 233 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the win. The first touchdown came on a touch pass to Todd Gurley from 19 yards out in the game's opening quarter, and the second was an eight-yard throw to Cooper Kupp in the second half. Sean McVay used a lot of play-action passes to get Goff on the move some, and he had plenty of time to throw all night. The former No. 1 pick looks extremely poised to start his third season, and Los Angeles should only get better offensively as the year gets going (remember, Goff and many of the key players didn't even play in the preseason). Following a tough stretch to finish the month (v ARI, v LAC, v MIN), Goff should be back in no-doubt QB1 territory.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Sean McVay expects to be "more present" for Jared Goff this season.

Entering his second season as the Rams head coach, McVay now will "just kind of fine-tune" things instead of having to install his people and methods into the organization when he took over the franchise last year, so he'll have more opportunities to work directly with his quarterback. McVay and Goff had a ton of success in their first season together, and they'll look to build on that and form a stronger relationship heading into year two together. With offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur and quarterbacks coach Greg Olson leaving for the Titans and Raiders offensive coordinator jobs, respectively, it'll be great for the main constant (McVay) to be there for Goff while attempting to offset the loss of two key offensive coaches from last season. For as good as the Rams offense was in 2017 (28.9 points per game, third in the NFL), they're looking to build upon the success, and they have the potential to turn into an offensive juggernaut with Goff leading the passing game.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff throws one touchdown in Rams' playoff loss.

The number one scoring offense of the Rams simply didn't have many opportunities in the Wild Card matchup against Atlanta, as the Falcons dominated time of possession by over 15 minutes. Goff and the offense couldn't get much going early, but they got hot in the second quarter and scored ten points. However, in the second half, the Falcons controlled the ball and the clock, not allowing the Rams many opportunities. Overall, Goff was 24/45 for 259 yards and one touchdown. The score came on a dime on a wheel route to Cooper Kupp in the red zone, and Goff threw a few spectacular dimes throughout the night. Despite the disappointing end to the season, Goff still had a great second year in his first season with Sean McVay as his head coach, proving all those wrong that foolishly called him a bust after seven games last season. Entering his third season, Goff will look to make another jump, and he'll be a QB1 in 2018 fantasy drafts.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff won't play in the season finale.

The Rams are resting some key players like Goff and Todd Gurley, as they aren't too concerned with how the playoff bracket shakes out between the four teams in the 3-6 seeds in the NFC. Goff's excellent regular season ends with 3,804 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, and seven interceptions, and a 62.1% completion percentage. He also had 51 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown while helping lead the Rams to an 11-4 record. Those that said Goff was a bust after seven games last season could not have been proven more wrong by the young quarterback, and he'll look to have a big postseason when he takes the field.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff tosses four touchdowns in win over the Titans.

Goff had another great game in a big Week 16 victory, going 22/38 for 301 yards and four touchdowns, along with one lost fumble on a play where he was crushed before he could even hand the ball off. Todd Gurley did a lot of the damage (158 yards and two receiving touchdowns) in the game, but Goff still played well, including tossing the go-ahead touchdown on a perfect throw to the corner in middle of the fourth quarter. Goff's other touchdown was to Sammy Watkins on a quick slant at the goal line. Operating one of the league's best offenses at a high level, Goff is a QB1 for the final week of the regular season.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff throws two touchdowns in Rams' blowout victory over Seattle.

Los Angeles absolutely dominated the Seahawks in Seattle in this one, so the second-year quarterback didn't need to have a huge game in the win. Goff was 14/21 for 120 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The scores were to Todd Gurley and Robert Woods, both in the red zone. On Christmas Eve against the Titans, Goff is in the QB1 conversation.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff throws two touchdowns in loss to the Eagles.

Goff was 16/26 for 199 yards and two touchdowns and a lost fumble in the Week 14 defeat. The second-year quarterback played a pretty good game, but the Rams had only 45 offensive plays the entire afternoon. His scores were to Cooper Kupp on a zig route and Sammy Watkins on a quick slant at the goal line on a run-pass option. Goff faces the Seahawks next week, but he's still in QB1 consideration considering the injuries Seattle is dealing with.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams improve to 9-3 with 32-16 win over Arizona.

Goff was 21/31 for 220 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also fumbled once but it was recovered. The interception was a nice play by a dropping defensive lineman, but overall, Goff was really good once again. The touchdowns were to tight end Gerald Everett from one yard away and Sammy Watkins from 11 yards out, and Goff is now on pace for 4,245 yards, 27 touchdowns, and eight interceptions with a quarter of the season to go. He will get the Eagles next week before finishing off with the Seahawks, Titans, and 49ers, so the second-year quarterback should finish strong. He might be a top-five option for the fantasy playoffs.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams improve to 8-3 with 26-20 win over New Orleans.

Goff was 28/43 for 354 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Things got started early with a five-yard pass to Sammy Watkins on the opening drive, and the other score came on a seven-yard pass to Josh Reynolds in the back of the end zone. It was a big game from Goff, but it could have been ever bigger, as Sammy Watkins failed to adjust on a deep pass that bounced off his hand and turned into an interception, and he also threw a nice back-shoulder pass to Watkins in the fourth quarter that would have been a touchdown if he caught it. Overall, it was another phenomenal performance by the second-year quarterback, and he'll be a solid QB1 in Week 13 against Arizona.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff, Rams held to seven points in loss to Minnesota.

Goff was 23/37 for 225 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. The Vikings completely controlled the game between 7-2 teams, and a couple crucial mistakes by Los Angeles allowed them to pull away. Goff will return home to another huge matchup with the 8-2 Saints, and he should be back in QB1 territory.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff torches the Texans for three touchdowns as the Rams improve to 7-2.

The second-year quarterback continues to play very well while leading an offense that's been scoring a ton of points this season, as he was 25/37 for 355 yards and three touchdowns against Houston. Two touchdowns were to Robert Woods—with one coming on a 94-yarder on a deep bomb off play-action deep in their own territory; and the other was to Sammy Watkins on a 17-yard screen pass. Rams head coach Sean McVay is doing an outstanding job with Goff, who continues to show why he was a top pick in the draft last year. The Rams might face the toughest defense they'll face the rest of the regular season when they place Minnesota next week, but Goff—who has 666 yards and seven touchdowns over the last two weeks—is still in the QB1 conversation while he's this hot.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff needs just 14 completions to torch Giants in 51-17 win.

Goff was 14/22 for 311 yards, four touchdowns, and zero turnovers to advance to 6-2. He got things going with an eight-yard touchdown to Tyler Higbee in the first quarter, then connected with Robert Woods on a screen pass that he housed from 52 yards away in the second quarter. The highlight was a 67-yard bomb to Sammy Watkins for his third touchdown, and he finished things off with a four-yard score to Woods again in the third quarter. Hilariously written off as a bust last season, Goff leads the NFL in yards per attempt on the league's highest-scoring offense. If available, he's a high-end streaming option against the Texans in Week 10.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff plays well as the Rams improve to 5-2.

The second-year quarterback was 22/37 for 235 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and also carried twice for 13 yards and a touchdown on the ground against the Cardinals in London. It was a 33-0 shutout for the Rams, who moved the ball well on Arizona throughout the game. Goff's rushing score came on a zone read where he showed his athleticism and ability to make those types of plays when they're there. And the passing touchdown came on a screen pass to rookie receiver Cooper Kupp in the fourth quarter, putting LA up 33-0. The Rams have a Week 8 bye before facing the Giants in Week 9.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff plays mistake-free as the Rams improve to 4-2.

This was supposed to be a defensive battle, and it was after a crazy first quarter that included the Rams returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Goff was 11/21 for 124 yards and a touchdown while gaining nine yards on four carries. The touchdown was on a shuffle pass to rookie tight end Gerald Everett for four yards. Goff will now face a resurgent Cardinals team in Week 7, so he's probably best left out of fantasy lineups.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Seahawks shut down the Rams offense in Week 5.

Jared Goff was 22/47 for 288 yards, two interceptions, a lost fumble, and a 22-yard carry against a stifling Seattle defense. The Seahawks pressured Goff all day, as the one interception came off a tipped pass that went to defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson, and on the other interception it appeared Goff's arm was hit and the pass was easily intercepted by Earl Thomas. The Rams will look to turn things around in Week 6, but it's in another difficult matchup against a Jaguars defense that just picked off Ben Roethilsberger five times.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff and the Rams pull off big win in Dallas, improve to 3-1.

Goff was 21/36 for 255 yards and two touchdowns, continuing his efficient play and picking apart the weaknesses in the Dallas defense. There isn't much "bust" talk this year, as the 2016 first-overall pick is on pace for 4,288 yards, 28 touchdowns, and four interceptions at the season's quarter mark. The schedule is as difficult as possible in the coming weeks, though, so Goff can probably stay on the waiver wire. Perhaps the confidence gained to start the year will give him momentum against Seattle next Sunday, and the game being in LA should help. Still, Goff is off the QB1 map for Week 5.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff lights up the 49ers to help the Rams improve to 2-1.

Last year's number one overall pick continues to prove people that called him a bust wrong, as he played lights out in the Thursday night win, going 22/28 for 292 yards and three touchdowns. Goff threw accurate passes to all parts of the field—short, intermediate, and deep—and helped lead the Rams to 41 points in a high-scoring contest. The first touchdown came to Todd Gurley in the flat, the second came on a slant to Sammy Watkins at the goal line, and the third came on a pass over the middle to Watkins where the receiver put his foot in the ground to break a couple of tackles and score. Sean McVay and the new offense have very clearly been great for Goff, who looks like someone that was selected with the first pick in the draft last year. Goff and the Rams will look to keep it going in Week 4 against the Cowboys.

Jared Goff makes game-ending mistake in 27-20 loss to the Redskins.

Goff was 15/25 for 224 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, which was a pick late in the fourth quarter where he stared down a throw to Cooper Kupp. It was a rare mistake for Goff through two games, but he'll get a quick turnaround to forget about it with a game this Thursday night against the 49ers. He's a streaming option.

Jared Goff impresses in Rams' 46-9 win over the Colts.

Goff was 21/29 for 306 yards and one touchdown, which was a nice throw to Cooper Kupp from 18 yards out. Unfortunately, his upside was capped by a couple defensive touchdowns and the Colts inability to put puts on the board, but it was a promising performance by Goff and the first step to proving "experts" calling him a "bust" wrong. Los Angeles will host the Redskins in Week 2.

Jared Goff struggles in Rams' third preseason game.

Goff was 5/8 for 56 yards and an interception. The Rams drove down the field on their opening drive against the Chargers, but Joey Bosa strip sacked Goff deep in Chargers' territory. On the next drive, Goff appeared to have the ball slip out of his hands as a pass intended for Sammy Watkins sailed on him and was intercepted. There were still things to like, and it's clear new head coach Sean McVay is going to use Goff's athleticism and move him outside the pocket more than the Rams did last season.

Jared Goff dissects the Raiders in team's second preseason game.

Goff was 16/20 for 160 yards and one touchdown, which was the play of the game. With reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack in his face, Goff showed off his arm talent and accuracy with a pretty pass to Cooper Kupp for a 23-yard score. Last year's first overall pick also made a perfect pass to new receiver Sammy Watkins on a would-be touchdown in their first game action together, but Watkins couldn't bring it in. We have a feeling that a lot of people will look really dumb for writing off Goff after one season. The Rams play their LA counterparts in the regular season dress rehearsal next Saturday.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff was 3/4 for 34 yards in Saturday's preseason opener.

Goff essentially had 1.5 series, as the Rams recovered a fumble on a punt and gave the first-team offense a chance to stay on the field. Last year's #1 overall pick looked good in Sean McVay's offense, including the scoring play that was a perfectly thrown ball to Robert Woods that he caught and fumbled into the end zone, allowing rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp to recover it for the touchdown. Hopefully we see more of Goff next week, and maybe he will have new weapon Sammy Watkins in uniform.

Jared Goff says he's "grasped all of" the new Rams offense so far.

Head coach Sean McVay said he's installed 95% of the offense, so this is great news. Goff said he's learning this offense "much quicker" than he learned his offense as a rookie last season. Everything about the 2016 number one overall pick has been positive this offseason. It's still early, but McVay looks like a good match for Goff, and it's probably good that the young quarterback is learning this offense in his second season so that hopefully it leads to many years in the same offense. The biggest obstacle Goff is facing this season is his offensive line; if they protect him and give him time to throw, it'll make things a lot easier for Goff.

Sean McVay says quarterback Jared Goff is "our guy."

Goff has reportedly looked great at OTAs so far, but McVay preaching competition at all positions including quarterback was used to fit the media narrative that Goff is a bust after one season. McVay says Goff has improved each day and is reportedly "spending almost every possible waking minute at the Rams' facility," according to ESPN. Goff has looked very good at OTAs, according to reports, and teammates have praised his progression from year one to year two. The Rams aren't going to hand Goff the job, but last year's number one overall pick is likely to start for the team this year.

Multiple reports: Jared Goff continues to look good in Rams OTAs.

Goff reportedly has been on point throughout training so far, including some great throws in practice today. Obviously OTAs are a little different than games, but Goff definitely has ability to throw the ball accurately. Despite much of the media doing it, it's very unfair to call Goff a bust after seven games. Also, because head coach Sean McVay recently said the best player is going to play and preached competition everywhere, people jumped to the conclusion that Goff might not start for Los Angeles. McVay's comments were blown out of proportion—Goff is likely to start this season. The offensive line is the big concern for the Rams.

Jared Goff is picking up the new Rams offense quickly.

Goff said he's having an easier time with this offense than he did with the offense last season. There has been a lot of positive talk of Goff this offseason, and it's looking like new head coach Sean McVay will make things much better for Goff in his second season. Goff is also showing great leadership, according to teammates like Todd Gurley. Last year's number one overall pick has major potential to take positive steps forward this season.

Jared Goff has "exceeded expectations" for the Rams' new coaching staff, according to Steve Wyche.

GM Les Snead said that Goff understands more than he did as a rookie, including "what NFL defenses want to do." Goff was not in a good situation last season and did not get much help. For some odd reason, much of the media has given up on Goff and declared him a bust already, despite only playing one season. He has a lot of arm talent and should be able to take a big step forward this season.

Thankfully it's over; Goff makes it through rookie season.

On a sinking ship that was the Rams, Goff appears to have gotten through the season without being too damaged heading into the offseason. Goff was 13/20 for 120 yards and was sacked seven times against the Cardinals. He had 1,089 yards, five touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a 54.6% completion percentage in seven starts this season. A new coaching staff will be a welcome sight for Goff, particularly if it's an offensive coach like Kyle Shanahan, Josh McDaniels, or Chip Kelly. He obviously has the ability to be a great quarterback, but needs some help.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff doesn't crack 100 yards against the 49ers.

Goff was 11/24 for 90 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. His touchdown was a short one to Tyler Higbee. The Niners defense played well and held the Rams' running game and Todd Gurley in check for the most part. Goff should be happy to see whoever the new coach and offensive staff is this offseason.

Jared Goff gets cleared to play against the Niners.

He'll start after passing concussion protocol. Goff is not an advisable fantasy option. That could change in 2017 with a new coaching staff and a new offense, however.

Jared Goff leaves TNF to be evaluated for a concussion.

He took a big hit from Richard Sherman late in the game. The independent spotter called in to get Goff taken out of the game. Goff clearly wanted to remain in the game, but it was out of his control. He ended 13/25 for 135 yards. Goff was under constant pressure, but looked good stepping up into the pocket and making some accurate throws. He does not have much help, and the new coaching staff in 2017 will surely help his progression. Goff also had a potential deep touchdown dropped by rookie Michael Thomas early in the game. Goff isn't a fantasy option.

The Rams have fired head coach Jeff Fisher.

Five seasons in, and not playing well, it was probably time to go in a different direction. Fisher's biggest issue was offensively, as offensive coordinator Rob Boras' offense left a lot to be desired and was called a "high school offense" by Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson and current star running back Todd Gurley said it looked like a "middle school" offense. The Rams also never got many weapons at receiver and tight end for their quarterbacks over the past several years. Special teams coordinator John Fassel will take over as the interim head coach for the final three games.

Jared Goff struggles again against the Falcons.

Goff was 24/41 for 235 yards and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble for a touchdown. One of the interceptions was a pick six, but linebacker Deion Jones did make a nice play on it. To be fair, Goff has not had much help from his receivers and one of the interceptions was on a catchable ball from Goff. The Rams offense needs a big overhaul this offseason to give Goff his best chance at success.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff struggles mightily in 26-10 loss to Patriots.

Goff was 14/32 for 161 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. The touchdown came late in the game with the outcome already determined. Los Angeles simply does not have the coaching or the players around Goff to set him up to succeed. The #1 overall pick of this year's draft has all the talent, but Jeff Fisher signing an extension through 2018 over the weekend might have been the worst thing for him. Goff isn't a fantasy option next week against the Falcons.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff throws three first half touchdowns in Rams blowout loss to the Saints.

The Rams lost 49-21, so this game certainly wasn't on Goff. The Rams put up 21 points in the first half, but were still down 28-21 to Drew Brees and the Saints. Goff was 20/32 for 214 yards, three touchdowns, and one interceptions. The first touchdown was a beautiful 24-yard throw to Tavon Austin. Then he followed those touchdowns up with two more on a quick slant to Kenny Britt and a laser to Lance Kendricks. Goff flashed some of what the Rams saw when they took him number one overall in the draft. A trip to Foxborough will be a very tough test for the rookie. He's not usable in fantasy, but may be as early as next season.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Rams lose 14-10 to the Dolphins in Jared Goff’s first start.

Goff was 17/31 for 134 yards and no turnovers. Goff clearly has all the tools and will have a chance to grow over these final six games. Hopefully the Rams get him some more help on offense this offseason.

Jared Goff | Rams QB

Jared Goff will make his first career NFL start this Sunday against the Dolphins, according to Chris Mortenson.

The Rams are playing at home in LA, and they are going to throw Goff in there. The Rams didn't score a touchdown last week against the Jets (but still won). The Rams offense is not an ideal situation for Goff (compared to the situations Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott are in with the Eagles and Cowboys), but Goff was the number one overall pick for a reason. Hopefully the Rams help him out with the gameplan and the people around him play well. Goff is someone worth watching these last seven weeks of the season, but keep him off your fantasy roster.
