New April Releases To Stream On Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu

As we enter another month of no sports and little to no social activities, there’ll be a lot of streaming movies and shows around the world. Video is up in many households, and these are the top new releases coming to Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu this month.

Netflix

New to Netflix this month is the Lethal Weapon series, The Matrix series, The Social Network, and Taxi Driver (all out today), with The Good, the Bad and the Ugly joining the action tomorrow April 2. Additionally, from last month, two classic movies—Goodfellas and The Shawshank Redemption—were made available, and the new season of Ozark (an excellent crime drama) was released just last Friday. Overall, there is a nice selection of new movies in particular, but the third season of Ozark is an obvious highlight among Netflix television series releasing this month.

Amazon Prime

Bosch Season 6 is the headliner for Amazon Prime’s new television releases in April, but the movies are exciting. The Lighthouse is worth considering if you want to get a look at the new Batman, Robert Pattinson. But perhaps even more exciting is a bunch of Bond movies available in 4K, starting today. All 20 pre-Daniel Craig Bond movies are available on Prime—and they are even in 4K Ultra HD despite the first film, Dr. No, releasing back in 1962.

Hulu

Parasite, the Best Picture winner at this year’s Oscars, was a great get for Hulu, and plenty of people will be streaming the South Korean dark comedy this month. For a new series, Little Fires Everywhere just began in March and will continue throughout this month. With a deep cast let by Cate Blanchett, Mrs. America might be Hulu’s top offering, though, and it will be interesting to see how the FX on Hulu—which should be high quality given FX’s history—show performs.
